Why Drones Are Increasingly Popular in Australia

Drones are increasing in popularity in Australia for reasons that you may not have thought of. We have all seen the videos on social media and heard stories of the local teenager investing in a drone for some hijinks but drones are helping revolutionise major Australian industries. Not everyone might agree with the idea of drones given the nature of the all- seeing eye but at the end of the day, they are helping change the way we act, paving the path for a new generation of not only fun but much more than that.

One of the things to note about Australia is just how sparse our land is, especially for those who own large properties. Those in the agricultural industry are reaping the benefits of drone usage helping to monitor parts of their properties in an easier way. Whether it is lost livestock, broken fences or checking to see what is going on at the other side of the orchard, drones allow those working these properties to be in more than one place at a time. Farmers can have a bird’s eye view of what is going on across the property, witness any disruptions and observe changes in the patterns.

Emergency services across the country are also taking advantage of the benefits of drone usage. Police surveillance, Search and Rescue and other essential services are monitoring the land and coastline and even the Fire Department have been able to utilise this technology.

With plenty of land to cover and clear skies to fly in, there is no wonder drone technology is taking off in Australia. From its practical usage to even drone racing, we are only seeing the beginning of how drones will be implemented in this country. The best may very well be yet to come!
